The only thing I wish to get out of life is happiness. Many things in life have the ability to make someone happy, for an example, family. Family is what everyone can fall back on. They encourage you to do things, and they are there for you if things go wrong. I want to become a psychologists when i grow up because I like helping people. I know my family will help me and push me along the way. But I also know that if I fail, they will be right there to keep me going. It’s comforting to know, no matter what your family will always be there. Of course i want to get married, buy a home, and have children, but most importantly i need my family to keep me happy.

“Don’t gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver and gold.” by Bob Marley.

This quote means a lot to me because it says a lot. You wouldn’t want to get nice things or obtain expensive things if it means losing who you are, would you? Everyone has morals to which they live up to. Some people want to buy nice cars to make sure people know they have money. I feel people care too much about what people think. Some people buy really big and nice cars even if they are terrible on gas, they only want it for the name. You could buy a car that is much more fuel efficient for about half the price. I would take having my morals over an expensive car any day.

5 Things to Better Myself

Filed under: Uncategorized — nicolelapp at 10:53 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2010

I would like to become a better student, five things that can help me improve that is; study more, get rid of as many distractions in class as possible, write down my homework so I don’t forget to do it, set a goal grade in each class so I have something to motivate me, and just try my hardest in every thing i do.

Would I really do anything for someone I love? I’m not sure if I would depending upon the circumstances and the risks. If anything happened to my sister  and she needed a kidney, i would without a doubt give her one of mine. Although I am not a big risk taker but my sister means the world to me and the risk wouldn’t even be a factor in my decision. The risk would be if something happened to my existing kidney, i wouldn’t have an extra to rely on. I could never live with myself knowing that she died because I didn’t want to take the risk. I know that’s the best gift i could give her if that ever happened. It would bring us even closer together and make our sisterly bond more stronger.

Giving & Taking

I feel the biggest problem in relationships is both people do not give enough. When you have one person that gives more than the other partner, that person can feel under appreciated. For an example, if one person is always picking what to do. This can cause conflict in the relationship if the partner that isn’t giving enough in confronted about it. A good way to try to resolve this would be trying to talk about it. For an equal give and take relationship, both must contribute equally. At the start of the relationship, it could be a good idea to established how much each will contribute.http://tinyurl.com/yc4kxsx

Gaining and Losing

Filed under: Uncategorized — nicolelapp at 7:57 pm on Friday, January 8, 2010

Losing someone in your life can have a very big impact, especially someone very close to you. In September of 2009, two days before my junior year of high school started, one of my good friends died. At first I didn’t believe it, I didn’t want to, I was too scared to accept the facts. When I think of what he left behind, a mother, father, and a little sister, I can’t help but wonder why. I know I’ll never know but that’s what hurts the most. Everyone in Salisbury is different and most kids have nothing in common. But when I went to his viewing, I saw that everyone there shared somthing, we all cared about him so much. By losing him I gained friendships that I built with his other friends, knowing that we will always share something in common.

My future is very important to me. I would like to graduate junior year with a 95 average or higher. I want to attend Lafayette College and good grades will help. Math is the easiest subject for me, so a math teacher would be a good career for me. Last year I had a lot of distractions during school and this year I would like to eliminate as many as I can. I am really going to focus my hardest and try my best to achieve my goal. If I do no achieve my goal I will try to figure out a back up plan. Psychology is also another subject that interests me very much. I feel that is another career that I could do well in. In five years I see myself graduating from college. Hopefully I will have my own apartment or even a house. I wouldn’t like to settle down with a boyfriend because my main goal is to be successful and I wouldn’t want that big of a distraction.          Algebra Lesson
